Aleaf repurposes the cardboard that is received from shipments. The cardboard is cut by hand and made into individual backing cards for our jewelry pieces and prints. The backing cards are recyclable

BACKING CARDS

After our backing cards are designed and cut, our logo is added with ink (either written in or stamped with ink). We designed it this way for the item to continue being curbside recyclable.

INK & STAMPS

Each jewelry piece comes with a unbleached cotton muslin bag that is soft, durable and reusable. Chemical and Fragrance free.

We include a cotton jewelry bag in our efforts to reduce plastic use. This bag is not only great at protecting your jewelry pieces, it can be reused/repurposed for other things.

JEWELRY BAG

Aleaf repurposes packaging when possible. We cut and design packaging to repurpose the ones we receive to avoid creating more waste. Mailers, cardboard boxes, and other packing materials are reused and/or repurposed.

Although we reuse/repurpose we take our time to design and curate a nicely packaged item.

SUSTAINABILITY GOALS

Aleaf is a small, woman owned, artisan business. We launched in 2021 so we are kinda new and small, but be sure that we are working hard to becoming more eco-friendly. As we grow we hope that we can offer more sustainable options as they become attainable. This upcoming year we hope to offer mailers made of 100% recycled material (that are curbside recyclable), offer zero waste shipping labels, to use water-activated and compostable tape, and use recycled paper for our prints.

We are an eco-conscious business whose practices aim to reduce waste, reuse/repurpose/recycle materials. We want want to give every material/item a second chance before going to a landfill or recycling center when possible.
